Tell us about your childhood and what you wanted to be when you 'grew up'?
I grew up in Sydney and had a typically Australian upbringing - we went to the beach every weekend and spent a lot of time outdoors. I was very creative as a child, constantly making things and keeping myself entertained. I wanted to be an actress!
What moved you to start Ruuby?
I started my career as a geopolitical analyst and loved it. After a few years, however, I realised that I really wanted to start my own company and it was a time when on-demand service apps were booming in London. There was nothing for beauty though, and I decided to start it myself!
What were some of the early lessons you learnt about running a business?
I remember someone told me it takes at least five years for a business to really find its feet. At the time I couldn't believe it, but now we are seven years in I understand. Businesses are complicated - consumer needs evolve, and priorities change. An ability to stay nimble is crucial.

Run us through a typical day at work.
My days really differ - but what I try to keep consistent is keeping up with the daily pulse through checking in with my teams and overseeing our metrics. I now organise my days a little better - external meetings on some days, and full office days on others. It helps with productivity.
What have been some career highlights so far?
We've done some incredible things over the past few years. One would definitely be the fact that we managed to navigate the pandemic and come through the other side. We've also delivered treatments across the world and worked with some of the most established and incredible beauty professionals on some big moments - e.g. Fashion Week, BAFTA and pre-Oscars!
What piece of career advice would you give to your 20-year-old self?
It doesn't matter where you start. I remember when I was younger, I thought every decision had to be the right one. Now I know that it’s a journey, and you can shape shift!
What is your favourite Libby outfit at the moment?
All the trousers - they are so elegant and flattering
What is your go to workwear style?
I love a suit. They carry me from day to night, and great one lasts forever.
Do you prefer a suit dressed up or down?
Dressed up!
How do you wind down at weekends or after work?
I spend time with my gorgeous daughter Penelope.
How do you juggle motherhood and entrepreneurship?
It is definitely not straightforward, but I accept that it's a juggle. I'm of the view that sometimes you can't keep all the balls in the air, so you have to pick one to drop for a while. You can pick it back up.
Lastly, what is your key piece of advice for other women in business?
As women, there is so much we can learn from each other. Nurturing our business friendships is so important, and it is great to have that support there from other women.
